In recital at San Francisco Opera
Leah Crocetto makes a joyful return to San Francisco Opera on April 10, appearing in recital as part of their Schwabacher Recital series. Crocetto, an alumni of the Merola Opera Program, has previously been seen on the San Francisco Opera stage as the title roles in Verdi’s Aida and Luisa Miller and as Líu in Puccini’s Turandot.
Crocetto and pianist Carrie-Ann Matheson will collaborate on music by Clara Schumann, Richard Strauss, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Giuseppe Verdi, and Crocetto will show off her crossover chops with a selection from Stephen Sondheim’s Follies and pieces from the American Songbook, including the jazz standard “I’ll Be Seeing You.” Baritone Lester Lynch will also join Crocetto for a duet from Verdi’s Aida. Performances will take place at the Dianne and Tad Taube Atrium Theater.
