This summer, Leah Crocetto graces the stage as Aida at Oper im Steinbruch, also known as the St. Margarethen Quarry Opera Festival (Opernfestspiele St. Margarethen). Renowned for her exceptional portrayal, Ms. Crocetto has performed on prestigious stages worldwide, including The Metropolitan Opera, Opera Australia, Washington National Opera, Fondazione Petruzzelli, and Seattle Opera, showcasing her mastery of this signature role.

Directed by Thaddeus Strassberger and featuring costumes by the acclaimed Giuseppe Palella, both celebrated for their collaboration on Turandot at the quarry in 2021, this production promises to transport audiences to ancient Egypt, set against the breathtaking backdrop of one of Europe’s most spectacular open-air stages.

The multiple stellar casts will also include Hovhannes Ayvazyan, Jorge Puerta, and Mikheil Sheshaberidze as Radames; Raehann Bryce-Davis, Kseniia Nikolaieva, and Sofija Petrović as Amneris; Gangsoon Kim and Zoltán Nagy as Amonasro; Jongmin Park and Insung Sim as Ramfis; Artyom Wasnetsov and Ivan Zinoviev as the King; Melissa Purnell as the High Priestess; and Zhoiden Dervishi as the Messenger. Conducting the performances will be Iván López-Reynoso, with the Piedra Festival Orchestra providing the Verdian soundscape and Philharmonia Chor Wein contributing their voices to the chorus.

Leah Crocetto’s performances are scheduled for July 10, 20, 26, August 4, 8, 10, 16, and 18, offering multiple opportunities for audiences to witness her compelling interpretation of this iconic role in a truly magnificent setting.
