This May, Leah Crocetto will make an exciting role debut as Margherita in Arrigo Boito’s Mefistofele performed in concert with Opera Australia. With source material taken from Goethe’s tragic play based on the legend of Faustus, this rarely-performed work features incredible music ranging from the magnificent prologue to Margherita’s devastating aria “L’altra notte in fondo al mare”.

Ms. Crocetto will share the stage with the great Italian bass Ferruccio Furlanetto as Mefistofele, Diego Torre as Faust, Natalie Aroyan as Elena, Sian Sharp as Marta/Pantalis and Iain Henderson as Wagner/Nereo. Also featured in the opera will be the Opera Australia Chorus, Opera Australia Children’s Chorus and Orchestra Victoria under the baton of Maestro Andrea Battistoni.

Performances will take place on May 25 and May 27 at the Arts Centre Melbourne.
