Leah Crocetto sings Liù at the San Francisco Opera
Leah Crocetto comes back to the role of Liù in Puccini’s Turandot after having sung it in San Francisco last in 2011, when she “combined elegant phrasing (especially in the lyrical Act 1 aria “Signore, ascolta”) with vaunting power” (SFGate).
These performances are the second run of the David Hockney production this season and the cast is a spectacular group of singers, headlined by world-renowned Nina Stemme in the title role and Brian Jadge, who reprises the role of Calaf after having made his role at the San Francisco Opera to glowing reviews last month.
Christopher Franklin will lead the performances on November 18, 25 and 28, and December 3, 6 and 9.
