‘Aida’ at Washington National Opera

Leah Crocetto returns to Washington National Opera for two productions this season; she stars in the title role of Verdi’s Aida and sings Elisabetta di Valois in the composer’s Don Carlo later in the year. The Aida performances take place September 10, 15 & 17, and feature a cast that also includes Carl Tanner as Radamès, Marina Prudenskaya as Amneris, and Gordon Hawkins as Amonasro, with Evan Rogister leading from the pit. The production, directed by Francesca Zambello, premiered last year at San Francisco Opera, with Ms. Crocetto making her debut as Aida:
